Hi, hope you guys can help me with problem (you've helped me with everything before!)
I try to get Firefox to live stream video files using the mozilla-vlc-plugin (Running on Fedora 2).
The plugin is installs correctly (I think?!?) but when I go to this page http://altair.videolan.org/~dionoea/vlc-plugin-demo/
and click on the link "mms" for the file "sw_8M.wmv" streaming does not work e.g. I get the message "this page contains information of type (application/x-vlc-plugin) that only be viewed with the appropriate Plug-in. I Click ok to download the plugin." When I click on ok the new window says "no plugins found".
This is really strange because If I go the "about
lugins" page in my Firefox browser it says mime-type "application/x-vlc-plugin" is present with enabled set to yes. However the suffixes section is empty.
Heres how I installed the plugin.
First I installed the mozilla-devel rpm
I then build VLC with the version of mozilla
XPIDL=/usr/lib/mozilla-1.7.6/xpidl ./configure --enable-v4l --with-ffmpeg-tree=/root/ffmpeg-0.4.9-pre1 --disable-wxwindows --disable-skins2 --disable-libmpeg2 --enable-mozilla
I then perform a make
and then a make install
XPIDL=/usr/lib/mozilla-1.7.6/xpidl make install
also mozilla/libvlcplugin.so has been copied to ~/.mozilla/plugins directory
does anyone have an idea why this is not working? any help is appreciated.
