Problems with KFloppy

I'm trying to use KFloppy (KDE's floppy formatter) but it isn't working properly.
Formatting it as DOS seems to work with Quick format but if I do Full, it says it couldn't determine the filesystem type when I try to mount it. Formatting as ext2 doesn't work either. Quick format doesn't do anything, not even the light turns on. If I use Full format I get the same error mounting again.
These commands though

mke2fs /dev/fd0
mkfs.msdos /dev/fd0

work perfectly.
But I would like to use KFloppy. What could be wrong with it?
