Problems with installing Mandrake Linux.

Hey all. I'm I'm a Windows user trying to install Mandrake (I believe it's a version 9 build) onto a Windows XP computer. Now, I've tried partitioning the drives, but I keep getting a "drive is too fragmented" error, no matter how many times I run scandisk or defragment. The funny thing is, on the larger drive (55 GB), at first the partitioning was working fine, it's just that the end of the drive was fragmented. Now it won't accept either drive at all. Is there a way to work around this with a minimal loss of information?

Thank you.

Yup, use a different partition manager. I used BootIt(It's free and very good) coz the first time I installed Mandy I didn't know it had one.
