Problems using kdump

Hello!

I've been trying to use some features of kdump/kexec that allow you to define scripts to run before and after crashdump info (vmcore).

To test, I force a crash using Ctrl-A to drop into kdb and then I execute "kdump." When I do this, the basic behavior seems normal - kexec is loaded, a vmcore file is built under /var/crash/<date>/, and the original kernel is booted. However, scripts that I've added do not run. I have followed and checked multiple tutorials on how to edit the kdump.conf file, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I did notice that when I force a crash I see the following line:
"Memory for crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) notwithin permissible range
disabling kdump"
But like I said, kexec still gets loaded, etc. so I'm not sure that it is a real issue. Plus I do have a crash kernel entry in my grub entry.
crashkernel=64M@16M

My /etc/kdump.conf:
#raw /dev/sda5
#ext3 /dev/sda3
#ext3 LABEL=/boot
#ext3 UUID=03138356-5e61-4ab3-b58e-27507ac41937
#net my.server.com:/export/tmp
#net user@my.server.com
#kdump_pre /var/crash/scripts/kdump-pre.sh
#path /var/crash
#core_collector makedumpfile -c
#link_delay 60
#kdump_post /var/crash/scripts/kdump-post.sh
#extra_bins /usr/bin/lftp
#extra_modules gfs2
#options modulename options
#default shell

kdump-post.sh and kdump-pre.sh use #!/bin/msh interpreter and just do some echo's that I never see.

Thanks for any advice!!!!
-Zack
