Hello all,
I just updated my OS to Kubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft from Breezy Badger.
I am having some issues with setting up sendmail so I can use the email client in Kontact.
I had it all set up before I updated my OS, so I know how to do it correctly, but for some reason there are problems with sendmail.
Every time I go to send a message via Sendmail I get this error:
Quote:
Failed to execute mailer program /usr/sbin/sendmail
|
I've tried installing/reinstalling sendmail via apt-get but this is all I get:
Code:
me@computer:~$ sudo apt-get install sendmail
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package sendmail is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package sendmail has no installation candidate
Now I have no idea what to do or where to go from this. I've attempted google searches which have proved unhelpful.
I know sendmail is definitely available via apt-get as I have installed it that way before.
All I want is to be able to send messages through Kontact.
I know everything else in Kontact is setup correctly, as I can recieve e-mail, I just can't reply or send new!
ANY IDEAS?????
