Problems installing vcdimager .. plz help ..

Well here's my issue ... I'm trying to install vcdimager ... but when I try to configure ..
the following error comes up ...

Code:

checking for libcdio >= 0.71... Package libcdio was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libcdio.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libcdio' found
configure: error: Required libcdio library not found. Please get libcdio from http://www.gnu.org/software/libcdio/ and install it.

ok ... i checked and I don't have this libcdio library ... so I installed it .... but no luck ...
again .. the same message apears .... I guess the library path is not set or something ...I have tried ldconfig and some other things but no luck again ... plz help on this issue ....

since you are currently using slackware try installing this binary http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=3441 it should work on slackware.
