In our organization we tried to install Mandriva and Ubuntu on Ibm PIII machines. Installation stopped on the different stages.

What are possible causes?

We also tried to use other CD:rom, we tried to take away additional graphical adapter which was installed and always the same.

That doesnt give folks much to go on.... although at a wild guess I could ask if you've been trying the same CD's.. I know ubuntu mails cd's, they can get damaged in route.. otherwise, gives us some more info.. what stage does it die at exactly? if you do ctrl-alt-F4 (I think its F4, try them all if not) you will see the text output from the commands the installers run, they can be very helpful for figuring out why somethings not work... Also specs on your system would be nice.. SCSI, IDE, SATA? Memory? the more info you give folks the better your chances at a more usefull reply then mine

Still sounding like bad media... a scratched or bent CD will do that... and since you didn't give any more info....
