I have three hard disks; an XP installation, a spare drive for data and the other hard drive partitioned for a linux installation (fedora 8).

I can boot successfully to windows through the GRUB, but when I choose linux, I get Error 17; cant mount selected partition.

I've tried reinstalling many times, and tried moving the bootloader to other drives, nothing seems to work.

Thing is, I've had this system dual booting windows xp and fedora 8 previously, but this problem happened since I tried to install another copy of win xp on the spare hard drive (I've since wiped clean).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The mapping is probably not correct in Grub. It's not being shown where the secondary (thirdary? lol) drive where Fedora is located. I can't be of much help because I use just one drive. There are a million and one how-to's on the net for this exact problem and you can probably even find some here in the forum. Just be patient and take a look around... you'll get it.
