problem with xine

I installed xine-0.9.8-4 on my system with rpm but then deleted a file of xine-packet by accident. Now I can't neither run it nor deinstall it via rpm.

Well, then I deleted all the files on my system which were from xine-packet.

Now trying to install xine per rpm says that it is already installed whereas erasing option with rpm says it is not installed ...

rpm -Uv /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/xine-0.9.8-4.i386.rpm
says xine-0.9.8-4 is already installed

rpm -ev /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/xine-0.9.8-4.i386.rpm
says that it is not installed

after doing "update" and running "locate xine" as root it says:

/var/lock/subsys/xinetd
/var/run/xinetd.pid
/etc/sysconfig/xinetd
/etc/xinetd.d
/etc/xinetd.d/chargen-udp
/etc/xinetd.d/chargen
/etc/xinetd.d/daytime-udp
/etc/xinetd.d/daytime
/etc/xinetd.d/echo-udp
/etc/xinetd.d/echo
/etc/xinetd.d/services
/etc/xinetd.d/servers
/etc/xinetd.d/time-udp
/etc/xinetd.d/time
/etc/xinetd.d/sgi_fam
/etc/xinetd.d/rsync
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc0.d/K50xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc1.d/K50xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc2.d/K50xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S56xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc4.d/S56xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S56xinetd
/etc/rc.d/rc6.d/K50xinetd
/etc/xinetd.conf
/usr/lib/rpm/rpm.xinetd
/usr/sbin/xinetd
/usr/sbin/xinetd-ipv6
/usr/share/doc/stunnel-3.22/sfinger.xinetd
/usr/share/doc/stunnel-3.22/pop3-redirect.xinetd
/usr/share/man/man5/xinetd.conf.5.gz
/usr/share/man/man8/xinetd.8.gz
/usr/share/man/man8/xinetd.log.8.gz

Is there anything that could be from xine?? Have I to install it from souce.. no other way??

Any help is much appreciated ...

you can try rebuilding the database rpm --rebuilddb
and/or you could try the -F flag rpm -Fvh <filename>

When you uninstall a package you shouldn't specify the whole name of the file: it works like this
rpm -e xine
As you've removed some files it might complain then use --force flag
rpm -e --force xine
