Question problem with X window system

I'm running Mandrake 10.1 I've been trying to install kopete .10 and I keep getting the error

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your ins tallation and add the correct paths

So I went into drake and tried to install libxorg-x11-devel. It said can't install selection (due to unsatisfied devel (libfreetype)) (i tried to post an image of the error but it wouldn't let me because I don't have 5 posts)

Try going to easyurpmi and configure some urpmi sources if you haven't alrady done so. Make sure you have the updates repositories configured and then try to install the packages required. If you already have urpmi sources configured try doing "urpmi.updatemedia -a" and then try to install the packages you need.

ok... that helped get me farther into the configure. I then got this error:

checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

You need to install the kdelibs development packages e.g.
Code:
#upmi libkdecore4-devel
