Question Problem with the Xine backend in phonon.

I'm running slackware 12.2 on xfce, I updated my KDE to 4.2.3 and everything else seems to be working fine but amarok refuses to play anything... I've been googling for this for a few days and figured it's probably a problem with the xine backend.

Now, I have kdemultimedia installed, which is supposed to include the xine backend, but in systemsettings the backend list is completely empty. How do I get KDE to find the xine backend? Any help greatly appreciated.

amarok, backend, kde, phonon, slackware, xfce, xine
