It like that we choose wrong driver for mouse in window.
How can I check the driver of my mouse or update it?
What Distribution do you have (Redhat, SuSE, Debian,..) ?
To open a text-terminal, press Ctrl+ALT+F1 and you can type commands in without a mouse.
If you have SuSE, start "yast2".
