Angry Problem with minimizing windows to systray

Hi,

I am running Redhat 7.2 for i686. When I am logged in as root, when I try to minimize windows, they does'nt get iconified to system tray (I only have to use Alt+Tab to switch between windows). But when I am logged in as guest user, I am able to iconify windows, while minimizing. Any tips?

Question
It would be helpful to tell us what Window manager you are using.

KDE? Gnome? Something Else?

If you don't know maybe you could describe it to us

Have you run the Red Hat updater "up2date"?

Sorry that I forgor to mention the DWM. I use GNome that came with RH distro.

Reg. up2date, I don't have an internet connection at my home.

I don't have much experience with older Red Hats as a desktop OS. I reccommend trying out Red Hat 9, though. It's pretty good.
