Hi,

I had Linux mdk 9.2 & just upgraded to 10.0. I have been ripping dvd's using mencoder/acidrip with no problems, save for audio & video being out of phase (which I fixed using avidemux with relative ease). Now, after upgrading to 10.0. Acidrip can't rip anymore. The logfile of my most recent attempt is given below:

NB: there was no file in the directory where it's supposed to be, & log says mplayer was not compiled using libmp3lame support. Do I have to recompile mplayer from source??? And what's this 'frameno.avi' file it says is not there???

Please do let me know. If acid_kewpie is viewing this post then his/her advice is especially requested ('cause he built the frontend).

Sorry abt that, I got it to work. I just had to install the lame package....

hehe.

Yeah, so I installed the ffmpeg package (that's supposed to have the codecs), but it still doesn't work. It copies the dvd's okay, but it gives errors (see below) if I try to encode.

Please advise as to what to do!!

you're clearly not using lame, you're trying to encode using lavc audio. select mp3lame from the audio list and go nuts

Hi, I'm trying to rip a dvd with mp3 audio, lavc crashes, pcm works (but that's not what I want), so I'm trying to figure out how to use lame.
I have lame installed and working with grip, but for some reason, it doesn't show up in the audio output list of acidrip.

I thought I could just copy the libmp3lame.so.0 file to wherever acidrip looks for it, but, I have no idea where that is.

Where should I put it (if this is the solution at all?)?
