problem with lock file in pine mail reader

Hello,

I am using pine in a networked environment. I was logged into one machine running pine and the terminal froze. So I killed the terminal after a couple minutes and logged back in only to be told 'trying to get folder lock from process 200046' and find my inbox is read only. The really odd thing is if I log into a different machine I dont get the lock when running pine.

The only lead I have is in my home area (on afs) I see a file:

#pico20046#

which has a timestamp of vaguely when the lock occured. But it isnt a file. I cant less it, I cant cd into it, I cant move or copy it!!! What do the #'s mean? I am sure the timetamp and the number being the same as the number in the log message is telling me something - but I dont know what.

I am using pine 4.58 on red hat 7.2 with gcc 2.95.

I would be grateful of anyones help solving this,

Mark
