problem with Gtk-WARNING in RHEL 5 while running java?

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
hello everybody,

I am having problem while starting java application in RHEL 5 with 32bit. I have updated by linux machine from RHEL 4 to RHEL 5, but the same java application which run smoothly in RHEL 4 doesn't run on RHEL 5 through SSH Secure Client(remotely). Whenever I run the java application through SSH as a root, it displays error as below:
Code:
(.:4731): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
I have installed JDK 1.5. It works fine if I manually run the application in main server without remote access. It also doesn't work and display same error if it is run through crontab too.

Can anyone tell me what is the solution for this problem.
Thank You.

How did you do the "update" from rhel4 to rhel 5 .
Did you do the RECOMMENDED fresh install ?
a upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3 is fine and will work but a upgrade from 4 to 5.3 most likely will not.

Now, it works through SSH remote client but when run the java application through crontab for automatic processing, it displays the error (Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display. What sort of configuration is needed to work smoothly as in RHEL 4?
