Problem with Gnucash import transaction matcher

using ubuntu gutsy/gnucash 2.2.1, recently whenever i import a ofx/qfx file, the "generic import transaction matcher" doesn't correctly assign expenses to categories. all transactions show "new, UNBALANCED (need acct to transfer $x)!"
it used to correctly assign categories to transactions/businesses that i had used in the past, and then guessed some of the rest. now it does nothing. not sure if this is a problem with libofx or gnucash. it does the same thing on my other ubuntu box.

yup, i'm an idiot. under preferences/online banking, checking "use bayesian matching" fixes the problem. weird that upgrading must have changed this option.
