Problem with gcc powerpc cross compile !!
 
hi!!!

ive started learninig powerpc for quite a while now... i was using cygwin with the powerpc tools in winxp for comliling my programs. latelly i shifted to SUSE 10. now in not able to compile my programs using "powerpc-elf-gcc" it says command not found.whay should i do.
are there any other packages required? if yes where will i get those frm???

First off, you must have a gcc that is able to cross-compile. This may well require a complete rebuild of your toolchain (gcc, binutils, headers etc...) which you may want to install locally to avoid overwriting your native gcc.

Second, to do the actual cross compile, I think all that is necessary is to define your chost flags to your target platform.

I suggest reading the gcc docs, or searching for a tutorial on setting up gcc to cross-compile.

thnx for the reply.ive installed suse10 oss with all the dev packages. how can i re compile these the toolchain.im new to this.... plz help me out.
