Problem With DC_gui2( totally out of ideas ! )

I recently installed my gentoo box .. plenty of problems ( but this only comes naturally ) . Ok my current problem is that my DC client ( dc_gui2 ) cannot connect to any server that has nickname restriction . The server tells me that my nick is not in the correct form . I insert my nick again. The server replys that i should use a nick name of the form " balblablalb " . Then i take a look at the nickname and realised it has been changed ! . I repeated this operation many times with different users , privileges and still the same response . Have any of u folks ever been confronted with this problem ?
