Problem With Admin Provilegies


People, I do need with urgent yor help
Iīve been logued as an user in RED HAT 9
but for some configuration it keeps me asking for a password because i do not have priligies with the user logued, I keep trying but thereīs no way i can find,
does anyone know how to solve this ??

That the "kit of the question" I donīt know which is the root password.
I am logged as an user abulafiar and I type the password for this user, but i wonīt like it,
have any clue ? Thanks a LOT

You are attempting to run "redhat-config-users" which requires administrative privileges, but more information is needed in order to do so.

SO, as I said, I am loggued as an user, but donīt know if it has admin privileges, please HELP ..!!

Are you able to login as root? Have lost/forgotten the root password? If you are the admin of the system and you have lost the root password, you might try Googling for password recovery on Linux.

for geting root priveleges use
#su

or if u have lost ur passsword
go to rescue mode and at the #prompt

use
#passwd root
to set new passwd for root
