problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_MixerApplet". on FC2
Hi All,
I recently left my laptop on [thinking the mains power was attached] - it wasn't. So the system shut down unexpectedly. On reboot the following error appeared imeadiatly after logon. The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_MixerApplet". Details: Failed to resolve, or extend '!prefs_key=/apps/panel/profiles/default/applets/mixer/prefs;background=none:;orient=up;size=medium;locked_down=false Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration? I click 'no' . .. the only visible problem is that the icons for 'computer' 'home' and 'wastebasket' have reverted to generic 'file' icons instead of their original colourful incarnations. Advice on the lines of 'switch to KDE' will be greatfully received, if you'd be kind enough to describe in detail how I might go about this, although really I'd prefer to know what's happened to gnome and how I can fix it. <STATS> Fedora Core 2 kernel 2.6.6 on: Acer Travelmate 2500 P4 2.8 Ghz Laptop 512Mb RAM shared with ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP </STATS> Thanks guys PS I googled for it but just got *BSD info. |
