hi

Im using ubuntu 9.10 distro.i downloaded pdftohtml_0.36.13_i386.deb package from ubuntu official site and tried to install it .but it showed the below error message


Error: Breaks exisiting package 'poppler-utils' conflict: pdftohtml (< 0.36-14)


I cannot understand what does it mean.please help me

As the error message obviously states, it means there's a conflict between the two packages. You can't have both of them installed at the same time.

If you take a look at the description of poppler-utils, you'll find that it provides alternative versions of the xpdf-utils*, all based on libpoppler.

So you already have pdftohtml installed on your system; just one from a different different source.

*xpdf-utils is the package that provides the original version of pdftohtml and other pdf-related utilities. Either way, it's not really necessary to install it separately.
