problem of wine install internet explorer on debain
 
Lately I try to install wine in order to make use of internet explorer (i use mozilla of course, except that application runs on customer requres ie env.)

the wine version is "Wine 20050310"

and the message occurred is

the env i use is debian 3.0 r0a (stable), kernel manually built 2.6.12.4.

You may find it easier to find a copy of "IE for Unix". Microsoft used to have it on their website but they EOL'ed it, you may find a copy lieing around somewhere on the net.

Re: Wine, Wine isn't particularly reliable (yet) for running Win apps in *nix, have you considered VMWare?

thanks your information. yet the internet explorer for un*x seemly is no longer available when having access to it. and i suppose it's unreliable for those binary file on the other website.

i had used vmware before, but that means i have to duplicate my application, for i don't have a better idea for the communication between these 2 system. although i know i can use internet to help file transmission, etc. , sometimes it's troublesome. for instance, "copying a fragment of text in vmware and trying to paste it to the vim or mozilla often fail ( it often copy nothing at all ) ; < " (or disconnection of internet). it's frustration, especially when boss is unhappy with you.; )

nevertheless, i appreciate your help, sincerely.
