Problem making writable ntfs
Hi all. I'm on slack 12.2. I have a 40gb usb hard drive and I wanted to format it with ntfs, so I ran mkfs.ntfs on the drive, and everything seemed to work. However when I tried to move a file to the drive a got an error message saying that I did not have permission (I am root, mind you); according to "ls -l" on the mount point I should very well have permissions.

Can anyone help me with this?

Are you using the built-in Linux NTFS driver, or NTFS-3G? The Linux NTFS driver is read-only, so unless you are using 3G, the message you are getting is to be expected.
