Problem Installing ssl support with Apache 2.0.50

Hi there --

I am trying to install Apache 2.0.50 with ssl support but without much success. I have openssl 9.7b installed in the /usr/local/ssl directory. When I run the configure script the syntax that I use is the following:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache --enable-so --enable-ssl --with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl --enable-cgid

The configure script appears to finish without difficulty, and when I check the output, ssl is found and is enabled. However, when I run the make command, I get and Error 1 message, and the following text appears in several lines:

undefined reference to '_ctype_b'

Does anyone know what this means, and what I need to do to correct it? Thanks.

Oh, I think I found it:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla....cgi?id=111928, 8th link off of http://www.google.com/search?q=linux+glibc+_ctype_b which I read just after posting.

I'm pretty sure _ctype_b is in libc (I'm using google to see that). So, does your glibc match your glibc? Have you tried building or installing multiple C libraries.

This problem probably would show up w/o using ssl. Perhaps try that just to be sure. openssl might be compiled against a different glibc.

I don't follow glibc development, so the best link I could find was http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thre...message=622336 via http://www.google.com/search?q=linux+glibc+_ctype_b

If no sparks fly about your libc or difference in your openssl compile, I would try digging into google a bit more and searching the glibc mailing lists.

Hope that helps,
chris

edit: add top
edit2: edit edit, fix google link.
