Problem installing RedHat 7.3 using VMware 4.0 on Windows XP
Hi:
Question: Problem installing RedHat 7.3 using VMware 4.0 on Windows XP. How to Install RedHat7.3 ? When I powered on VMware with RedHat 7.3 (HardDrive size 8GB and 200MB RAM.), I got following message poped up from VMWare. No bootable CD, floppy or hard disk was detected. To install an operating system, insert a bootable CD or floppy and restart the virtual machine by clicking the Reset button. Specification: VMware Workstation Version 4.0 build-4460 Memory: 512 MB Host OS version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600, Service Pack 1 Current config file: C:\Programs\Linux7.3\Linux7.3.vmx Current log file: c:\programs\linux7.3\vmware.log Thanks in Advance ! -Rajm438 |

The easiest way to boot any distro on VM is to load the ISO directly into VMWare. If you dont have the ISO, then you must edit the BIOS when VMWARE boots. Just treat the install as it was actually being installed on your main HD.. (meaning you need to make the CD rom first in line when the BIOS looks to load the OS).
