problem installing bugzilla

im trying to install bugzilla in fedora 8..
the very first step in the installation is typing ./checkconfig.pl..and to check whether all the dependencies are there or not..
but after typing this in terminal iam getting no such file or directory.

can neone tell me wats the problem..
i used locate checkconfig.pl but din get ne result..
do i need to install nethin ...i have already installed perl using yum..

Hmmm... I think it is checksetup.pl, not checkconfig.pl.

Also consider to install the binary package, unless you want to compile the latest version.

ya u r right ...its checksetup.pl only.
but i din get u ....how to install binary package??can u plz elaborate it...

I mean the bugzilla RPM distributed by Fedora, that is the software you can install using "Add/Remove Software". Binary, because it is already compiled for you.

Usually you have to install from source if you want the latest release of a program or if you want to enable some specific features that are not enabled in the binary package. Or if you want to enhance optimization based on your system specifics. Compiling from source is a good exercise, anyway.
