problem installing acrobat : ed: command not found?

Hello,

I am trying to install Acrobat Reader on my system. I have downloaded the file, unzipped it, and run ./INSTALL. I get the user agreement, it asks for a directory to place files, I give it that also, then it gives me an error:

./INSTALL : ed: command not found.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Danny

two scientist racing for the cure

hope this doesn't sound patronising, but it says it's not found 'ed' so that menas you've not got 'ed' installed. install it from your distro cd's.

To begin with, ed is just a text editor (a venerable old dinosaur from the early days of Unix) so if you can open up the install script and edit which editor it tries to use that might solve the problem. Be careful about switching the commands in the script that save, write output, etc because they might differ from the commands in ed.

It's not much but hope it helps a little.
