Post problem in sendmail


hi
i use redhat 8.0 distro and when ever i start my system the sendmail service is talking a lot of time to start. this happens not only after rebooting but whenever i start the sendmail service . can any one help me to speed up this service or tell me what might be the problem.
thanks for any help.

For one do you need sendmail running? In other words, disable it and forget it?
