We could probably help you, if you gave some actual details.

"Connected" how?? NFS? SMB? FTP? What?? What version/distro of Linux?

Run NFS server on the machine with the files on it, and export that directory. Mount it on your local workstation. Enjoy.

I am connecting through samba server. At server side the distro is SUSE and and at my side it is Ubuntu.Should i need to download any tools for samba server or configure something in configuration files of samba server so that the shared files could be opened directly without saving them to local system.I have the authority of both server and local system so i can make any chages if required to solve this problem. Please help me and thank you in advance.

Still don't know what help you need, based on what you're saying...

If you've already got Samba running on the server, connect to it from your client with an smbmount command (read the man page). The drive is then mounted, do what you'd like. If you don't have the right permissions, modify how you're sharing that directory in Samba.

And as I mentioned in my first post, you can always use NFS, too, which is far better to use in a Unix/Linux only environment.
