problem in installing working NS2 and ATM patch

Hello there
Has any one tried ns2 with atm patch.
Mine didn't work. I had tried with ns-2.1b7 and ns-2.1b9 and patch from
the http://www.cs.unh.edu/cnrg/people/sowmyam/ns-atm/
I have also tried with downgrading the compiler but it went without any success.
If any body successfully tried the combination please provide your valuable suggestion.
