problem in CL_ALL variable


Dear Friends,

I am getting follwing error when login to the root user :

the CL_ALL cannot set to default.No such file or directory.

One command prompt opens and it will not enter into the GUI mode.
I don't know how to set that variable.

Please help me.

Are you sure the message didn't say LC_ALL? Can you cut and paste the exact error message and your distribution information?

I am using PCLinuxOS distribution.
This cause when i am entering into the root user. Now, i am working with another user which doesn't have any priviulage.
How can i enter into root user.

I tried through command prompt also..i copied the error.

Password:
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory
[root@krishna ~]#

I think PCLinux requires you to do sudo. It's been awhile since I've used it. Try sudo "command". It should then prompt you for a root password and then perform the command.

I can't help you this late at night after a few brewskis (11:30Est gmt+5). Your on your own. I will suggest you google for Unix/Linux permissions and "sudo".
