Problem enabling compiz fusion on fedora 13 (graphic card)

i already installed compiz fusion on my fedora 13 but the problem is it requires nvidia drivers for 3d hardware acceleration. I'm using "intel corporation mobile 945GM/GMS" video card when i open up my display setting. So, i configured my video card, i change it to "nv - nVidia Riva 128, RIVA TNT, Geforce, nForce, and QUADRO cards"... After rebooting the system, it goes into runlevel 3 mode (init 3). i log in as root and enter init 5 to enter GUI mode but it failed..

so.. i log in again as root and use "system-config-display --reconfig" and change back the video card to original intel integrated chipset card. Success!! i can log in to gnome desktop again.. but no compiz fusion..:banghead:

im using compaq presario c600... is my graphic card isn't compatible to run the compiz? what is my mistakes there? is there any driver for 3d hardware acceleration for intel's graphic card?

1, your card is not an NVIDIA, so NV driver will not work, you need a driver for Intel
2. the NV driver is deprecated and does not support 3D, nor compiz

Intel card can run Compiz, what does glxinfo say?

fedora should have auto set up the intel driver that is in the kernel -- done this by default
also fedora no longer uses "xorg.conf" , it can IF YOU make one but one is not needed ( except for "unusual" settings )

are you using the current built for fedora by fedora users compiz-0.8.5

from the fedoraforum.ogr guild /help page dose the check script run and give you all yes 's
dose the "direct rendering" test say yes or no ???
"compiz-0.8.5 repo for F10, F11 & F12 + guide for the official fedora packages "

for a built in intel chip
the driver IS ALREADY installed . It is in the kernel

just set it to intel in the "xorg.conf"
and AS PER THE COMPIZ HELP / HOW TO PAGE I POSTED ABOVE
Quote:

xorg.conf options for the intel, nv, radeon & radeonhd drivers ( should help graphics lag and CPU load )

add to the device section

Code:

Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"

and DID YOU RUN "compiz-check utility "
and WHAT was the out put

Thank you for your instruction..
i already follow the step in the URL that you've given..

so, i run the compiz-check utility, and i got a hardware problem, my resolution is too high 2648 x 800... silly me

i turned off my second screen and the problem solved..;)

now i can run compiz without installing any new driver, just copy and paste:

Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"

in the xorg.conf in the devices section..
that's it
Thank you so much... :)
