When I select text with the mouse and copy it to emacs -nw by clicking the middle mouse button, the text copies disordered. Is this an emacs' issue? Thanks in advance.
Example:
I select this

05-Seguridad servidores => cajimenezc
+ analisis de riesgos servidores
+ carpeta contrato CC
+ contratos guillermo cosas electricas y plan contingencia
+ monitoreo de accesos a centro de computo
+ politicas acceso a servers
+ registro de backups (jjcardenasj hipocrates, ejortegau los
demás)
+ politicas seguridad (www1), políticas firewall (imprimir de
fortinet)
and it copies

that is SO WEIRD.
it did exactly the same thing here.
the burning question has to be why "emacs -nw" ?
when you can have it in a window and in text mode.
when you do emacs -nw fron a term window emacs is in a window (the terms window) anyway.
i think the reason this is happening is when you do emacs -nw you are putting emacs into lisp interactive interpreter mode.
any particular behaviour you are trying to get here ?
The situation is when I am using ssh to a server, so using X is slower.
man emacs says
-nw Tells Emacs not to use its special interface to X. If you use this switch when invoking Emacs from an xterm(1) window, display is done in that window. This must be the first option specified in the command line.
i can't figure out how to fix it.
sorry
perhaps someone else will come along.
normally in x emacs adopts primary mouse selection as it's own cut buffer.
outside of x it does not.
so when you paste using primary selection into emacs -nw.
it appears you are pasting to the underlying window not emacs.
so i can't figure out any way to use emacs code to change the strange behaviour.
fwiw, mine doesn't have the problem, i've got emacs version 21.3.1, so it's not necessarily an emacs problem unless it's version specific.
what xterm type thingy are you using ? my emacs is 21.4.1 and mine does it too.
when primary selection is pasted with middle mouse button there is actually some farmatting type decisions/communication between the two apps so it can even be a matter of what app you use as source app too.

good point. i was using "GNOME Terminal 2.7.3" but also tried it with xterm (xterm -v yields: X.Org 6.7.0(192)).
as for the source app, was using firefox 2.0 but also sourced from vi, gedit and xterm with same result (works fine). perhaps this is a "feature" of the 21.4 version of emacs?
