Prob w/ kubuntu installation

I tried install'g Kubuntu but I was stuck at an error that says
Deboot'g Error
Couldn't retrieve W3M. This may be due to a network problem or a bad cd, depending on ur installation method.

I really don't know what it means so pls help me!!!

Where did you get the disk from? What that error message suggests is that either your cd is corrupted or, if you are installing over a network, you have network problems. If you can wait a few weeks you can follow the links on the homepage and have Ubuntu send you the cds.

Yes, I am afraid so. You could test it in your pc, but you will probably end up with a partial install that won't work.

I'd suggest a re-download and check the download first. This link will tell you how to do that.

Open a DOS window and type in e: and hit return. CD = 'change directory', so (as an example), you may type in 'cd downloads\iso'

I just recently tried dl'g fedora on ed2k and still has the same problem Linux refuse to install the damn thing has the same problem. Fedora tried test'g the cd 4 errors and said that it failed. I used the same RW as I did with kubuntu. But I wonder I had an Xp pro orig cd and pretty much banged-up and filled with scratches and still its able to install no check sum crap here!!! If Linux is so gr8 it should really start act'g gr8 w/ its installation process and its hardware support!!! God !!! LINUX IS A PAIN!!! Sorry! But I just want to vent my frustration !!! I mean I tried read'g some books about but they never tried to handle the probs plaguing it!They never tried answer'g why its an ASS?

Now 4 my question:
1.) If I try to dl 500++ painful mbs do I have to rename the iso into mb5??? Y?
Coz I really don't mind try'g the check sum th'g however I do mind dl'g a 500++ mb just 4 not know'g it k!!!
I really hope this after gett'g this done it would all be worthwhile!!!

kris2pe - I really didn't understand a single word of your post. Could you retype it/edit it so it's in correct English please.

And for the millionth time, hardware support or the lack of it is nothing to do with Linux developers. Hardware vendors provide the drivers.

Okay I already done the md5 check sum thing!
It only gave me the error:
md5sum: Warning 1327 of 1327 listed could not be read!
Is there a fix 2 this?

Coz I already dled the same file twice and had the exact same result.
I also dled Fedora hop'g that it would giv me a better result. But failed it had built-in check to see if the files on the cd that I wrote were work'g and still gave the same crappy result.

My arguement is that what's with the check sum thing? I guessed its to check the quality or the validity of files in the cd. I mean I had an xp pro and it's pretty banged up with scratches but still it workin.
