prob in xfree setting, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!


I have a problem in the xfree system, i have changed the setting of the display card and now i can not login to the x system, please tell me how can i change it back using the text-mode console.
the error message that i have counter : "Sync. out of Range"
where my Monitro model is Samsung syncMaster 551v
Dist: redhat 9.0

You probably don't even need to edit the file to change it. There should be a backup named filename~ in the same location as your X config file. Just use mv to move the backup to the original, i.e. run (as root) "mv filename~ filename".

Is there any particular reason you're using Red Hat 9 and not something newer?

Edit: also, do you need to use so many exclamation marks?

i changed setting from a wizard called "redhat-config-xfree" not using a file.

just i have this distr cd's from more than 2 years ago.
