printing japanese pdf via ghostscript
Hello Everyone,
I have a previous post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...e-text-687455/ I am still struggling with printing japanese pdf documents with kpdf, xpdf, and ghostview. It seems that ghostscript renders the pdf into postscript to send it to the printer. The problem is I cannot seem to find a way to get ghostscript to display the text. Instead it just shows boxes where the text is. How do I get ghostscript to render japanese pdf documents? |
I have installed ghostscript 8.64 to see if this would help... of course, it doesn't.
But when I try to use it I get errors where the original debian version (8.62) does not... here they are: Code:
gs /home/checkmate3001/Downloads/japanese.pdf Code:
dpkg -l | grep ghostscript Code:
dpkg -l | grep adobe Any ideas? |
Sample Japanese PDF - can you view this with ghostscript?
I found a very simple sample pdf to test my ability to view and print japanese pdf documents.
http://www.sanface.com/pdf/japanese.pdf Can anyone read this pdf via ghostscript? Open with kpdf or xpdf and do a print preview. I just get squares where the text should be. |
