Angry Printer Problems


Can anyone tell me How can I Install and Share printers and folders on RedHat Linux 8.0. So that I am able to take the printouts from other windows machines also. and able to manage the printers.

Any response is highly appreciated

You need to look at samba. Samba is windows file and print sharing for linux. www.samba.org

Thanks for your response The problem is I tried Samba, after configuring it I am able to acces and install the printer in Network Neighborhood but there is no printout.

Ok, some things to try. I don't know your experience level with Linux or Windows, so excuse me if these are things you've already tried.

Have you made sure to install the correct Windows version of the printer's driver? Did you capter (map) a local port on the windows machine to linux machine? Such as ltp3: = \\linux\printer
