Practical subversion backups

Hey all!

I'm running a Subversion server on a rather unreliable machine at the moment. Being unable to negotiate a better machine for the time being, this machine will have to do. The hard disk is kind of buggy, pretty old, and I'm unsure about the memory's reliability. Internet access, however, is alive and kicking (not to mention very fast). In other words, not counting the machine's possibility of refusing to work on a bad day, all's going well.

Now, straight to the point -- does anyone know of a good backup solution for subversion using the FSFS storage mode? I'd be particularly interested in incremental backup solutions.

Thanks in advance...

Pulitz.

From what I understand you can backup a FSFS repository simply by backing up the datafiles. I maintain a few BDB SVN servers, and use "svnadmin dump", which does incremental backups. I don't know if it'll work for FSFS though. I'd get on the subversion mailing lists and see what the guys there recommend.

Wow, thanks! I guess I just hadn't looked it up properly... indeed svnadmin dump works like a charm, and it even does the incremental backups I wanted it to do

Cheers!
