postgres and Fedora 2

Hi all

I recently installed Fedora 2 on my box at home and I'm trying to create a web application with postgres as my backend.

With the default install of postgres through Fedora 2, I can't get into postgres. Not even with root.

Is there a default user or database I can use to get in and create new users?

Thanks

to make it clearer

i have a root user and my user 'eric'

when i type 'psql' in the terminal it says there is no database 'eric'

when i 'su psql' it says there is no database 'root'

i know there is no 'eric' db, but how do I get in to create a 'eric' db or any other db for that matter?

I figured it out, and yes I'm an idiot. It's been a while since I've played with postgres.
