Postfix Problem
Hi,
This is my first post. so please bare with me. I have some issues with mailing lists.Earlier I was using MS Exchange Server and I shifted to Linux. Now I am using Fedora and postfix.I am using mailing lists to send mails to some groups. When I send a mail to mailing list it is working fine. But if I send mail to particular mailing list and if I CC to member of that group, that particular member getting two copies of same mail. That has happened a headache because recipients are getting two three copies of same mail. this was not like this with exchange. so i want to avoid getting a copies of same mail to same recipient. Problem Example: Mailing list CREW Member’s manjula, Samantha, chamara If I send mail to CREW@mmm.lk & if I CC to chamara@mmm.lk , chamara is getting two copies of same mail. Is this wrong with my configurations or is this the way postfix working? I have edited the aliases file as follows Crew : manjula, chamara,Samantha, crew please help me to sort out this. Thanks Manjula |
Have a look at the faqs on postfix.org (I know what I'm thinking of is there somewhere but can't instantly find it), but from memory, this is how postfix works and it's simply an issue of do you add all the overhead required to check multiple mails or go for speed? Wietse has gone for the latter as I recaill.
Bill Edit Here you go: http://www.seaglass.com/postfix/faq.html#aldbl ps - why do you have "crew" at the end of the alias list? |
Thanks Bill
I have added crew at the end, since crew also want to get those mails |
