Postfix No such file or directory error on receiving mail

Hi,

I'm having trouble with telling Postfix what to do with mail it recieves. When I get an email sent to the problem server I get an entry in the mail queue like this:

Code:
203584380A4 1052 Thu Mar 25 15:17:06 me@mydomain.com
(connect to /file/name[/file/name]: No such file or directory)
                                         recipient@another-domain.com
I want recipient@another-domain.com to be mapped to user recipient, so I created a virtualusertable entry like this:

Code:
recipient@another-domain.com recipient
I added user recipient to my system and checked that a mailbox had been created ok. I can set up a virtualusertable mapping to another internet address, so I suppose it must be some kind of problem mapping the address to that username.... Does anyone have any hints?

Thanks,

James

Unhappy OH!

Ok I feel a bit stoopid now. I was writing a local address to another address, rather than to a local file. DOH!

I got a bit confused because sendmail assumes a mail it receives for user123@domain.com should be written to /var/spool/mail/user123. Postfix on the other hand assumes nothing. Is this default for Postfix, or did I do a funny install?

Regards,

James
