Postfix + Mailman & Best Practice
I have installed postfix on Fedora Core 4 (via yum) and out of the box... it's working great. I can send and receive mail (used for PHP scripts, etc... no human users) but am wondering... how secure is this? It's running on 127.0.0.1:25 but nowI would like to install and turn on mailman (for all it's genericness (nothing fancy)). This is basically where im at in my setup and I'd very much like to get some input from you guys on how to go about with best practice. I've decided to install mailman via yum packages as well to keep upgrading and package managment simple. Since I only need it for it's default features I don't see why not. I also have a preexisting mailman + qmail instance on a FreeBSD machine (which we're migrating away from) but I figure migration of archives, lists, etc. will come after the system is running properly.
I'll keep reporting back as I progress so others can learn from my experience. Any additional input would be sooooooo nice. Mail is the one this that has remained blackmagic to me (even compared to X11, etc.) Break me of my fear!
