I read other similar threads and found what I had assumed would work, but I probably don't have a good enough understanding of Postfix.

I have a single domain on this particular server, but postfix is configured for virtual domains.

I want an email that arrives for a real local user to not only be delivered to the local system, but also send a copy to someone@anotherdomain.com

If I make an entry in /etc/aliases, it sends to the remote user, but no local copy.

If I make an entry in /etc/postfix/virtual it does the same thing.

Hi,

I'm not very familiar with postfix delivery, but from this it looks like it also uses the .forward as sendmail does.
In this case you can put a .forward file in the user's homedir containing:
