postfix Config

I have just installed postfix on CentOS 5.1 using this wiki http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix
my server is setup at my house using a Dynamic DNS from Dyndns.com
i unblocked "pop3:tcp imap:tcp imaps:tcp pop3s:tcp".
i changed all the config values according to the wiki
i set up Outlook 2003 to work with my smtp and pop server.
i tried to send a email through outlook to my gmail i got this:
Code:
'********@gmail.com' on 19/02/2008 9:12 p.m.
      554 5.7.1 <********@gmail.com>: Relay access denied
I then read /var/log/maillog
it said
Code:
connect from [118.**.**.216]
NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from [118.**.**.216]: 554 5.7.1 <*******@gmail.com>: Relay access denied; from=<*****@******.ath.cx> to=<*******@gmail.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<LAPTOP>
disconnect from [118.**.**.216]
I then sent a email from gmail and it arrived in my inbox instantly
i have looked around but i am out of ideas?????

Scott.

The most likely problem is the mynetworks setting.

To be clear, are your trying to send an email from another machine on your lan to a gmail account?

If so, what is the IP of the machine you are sending from. Make sure this subnet is included in mynetworks.

If that doesn't work, please post output of postconf -n. When you post logs, please don't edit them as much - they are really hard to read.

Thanks billymayday i looked for mynetworks setting
i am sending from a PC on my LAN but i am sending to my DNS not the IP of the server
i ran "postconf -n" and got this
Code:
alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases
alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases
command_directory = /usr/sbin
config_directory = /etc/postfix
daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix
debug_peer_level = 2
home_mailbox = Maildir/
html_directory = no
inet_interfaces = all
mail_owner = postfix
mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq.postfix
manpage_directory = /usr/share/man
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost, $mydomain
mydomain = keysmash.ath.cx
myhostname = keysmash.ath.cx
myorigin = $mydomain
newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix
queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix
readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.3.3/README_FILES
relay_domains =
sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.3.3/samples
sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix
setgid_group = postdrop
unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 550
i was talking to someone else who suggested that gmail blocked my email because it was a random server not a proper ISP mail server but i have tried sending mail to 3 different email clients that use low level security and got the same error.

Scott.

Can you please explain exactly what you are trying to do, what your current setup is, etc. What machine is IP 118.**.**.216? What IP ranges do you use on you lan, etc., etc.

What does "i am sending to my DNS not the IP of the server" mean?

i got the same problem ("relay access denied") when i was sending email from my postfix to gmail account. Everything was solved when i added a rdns record in my dns server.
