postfix and php : recipient unknown

Hi to all,

i just installed a linux-host ( suse 9.1) with postfix and apache2 with php4.

Postfix has to relay all nonlocal mail to a mailrelay.
I can sent email at the console by mail...; its ok.
But if I try to send mail within a php-script by mail(), the mail will never arrive to the recipient. After some time, root gets a mail by postmaster , "error 5.0.0 recipient unknown...."
In the attached mail I can see the rcpt to: field. It is not empty !

Has anyone an idea, where to look for this error ?

And this I am assuming is a machine with MX records setup and your using a domain or for local use? If only local use, I'd assume from the command line it works cause it reads the /etc/hosts config file, the php script your using which you have yet to explain if its a script thru a browser or such isn't using your hosts file to read from and doesn't know where to send the email.

But more details helps instead of making it a guessing game..
