for a good browser, i think galeon is a good choice (after all, galeon is one of the most compatible MIME handling brower

I have to say that I love galeon, all the rendering of mozilla with out all the feature creep...also, already posted but I gotta give props to sylpheed. I use the claws iteration and it is fantastic.

Next on the agenda is freevo or mythtv, just gotta settle on a capture card. I hope to be loving one of those two soon.

mysql with the following:

horde with - imp, turba, kronolith and other stuff (web email software)

phpbb2 - free, professional quality forum software

Iagno. With the metal2 theme for the discs. It's an Othello clone, and very relaxing/hypnotic- clears my mind. It's not very hard though, so I don't play to just win, I play to skunk it.
