Possible to customize LILO's look?

Is it possible to customize the look of LILO, or GRUB? I know distros like redhat come with their own look for the grub startup screen, but I'm running slackware and my lilo screen is this low-res red-on-black default. Thanks.

/usr/doc/lilo-<version>

In there you should find TONS literally TONS of info (ok maybe not tons :D ) on setting up lilo to look differently. Also, check around the board, as well as poke around man lilo.conf

And let me be brutally honest, I gave up after 5 minutes of reading for more important things and have not returned since as I've grown to like the drab screen that came with Slack :D

Cool

Yeah, I have to admit I've never even thought about changing the Lilo boot screen on any of my machines, but I'm a bit curious on why anyone really cares. To me its just a boot screen that I see for about 2 seconds total or less really, that's if and when I reboot my machine.. ;)

Well, let's just say red isn't my color : )

I was thinking of changing the bg to a cool picture of Kerrigan (from StarCraft).

bitmap=kerrigan.bmp #kerrigan.bmp is in /etc

is that right?
