PoddoX and the Penguin?

Hello all,
Back in the deep dark days of my Windows use, I discovered PoddoX as a platform to manage my iPod. I had become extremely frustrated with iTunes and sought out an alternative for it. PoddoX was my first experience with open source applications and I LOVED it.

My issue here is, Can this app, based on use for windows, be added to my Linux Mint line up and enjoyed in the Linux environment? If so, how does one do this? Am I to use Wine to launch the program?

Please excuse my "Noob-ness" as I have just made the jump from Windows to Linux Mint. This app along with Skype/Logitech Quick Cam are the only applications that I can not get to run on my machine.

I continue to search and do my research, but I must admit that my chops are not up to par and I am leery of attempting this type of surgery without really knowing just what the hell I am doing...LOL...any help hee would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The way to run Windows programs on Linux is through wine. Don't know if it's installed by default on Mint, but should be available in the repositories if not. As it says on their homepage, "Wine is still under active development. Not every program works yet,..." But many do. Check their database...

Still looking for a way to get PODDOX to work with Linux. I am now running Peppermint and really need to be able to swap tunes between my two iPods.....can anyone help me find a compatable app that will allow me to have the same versatility that PODDOx allows? Pod to Pod syncing via Peppermint or linux Mint is what I am looking for.....thanks
