Plug and play not detected....

Last night I have installed RH9.0 Linux on a P4 with 256MB RAM system with ATI Rage 128 graphics card along with Windows 2000 in dual boot with graphics booting option.

Earlier this system had onyl windows on it.

The linux worked fine last night. this mornign when I booted, it gave "No Plug and Play detected" ... and finally said something about "Based upon Swansea universoty computer society".

I installed the kernal using the update option in RH9.0 CDs.

The linux worked fine. I worked in Windows for a couple of hours and when I tried to boot into Linux, it gives me the same error again.

I can try to install the Kernal again and make the RH work. I have never faced this kind of problem earlier. Does this have some thing to do with the Graphics card?

Hope some one can help me solve this problem.

updated: I have observed that I am able to boot in Linux if I keep a pen drive in teh USB port. Earlier, I had tried to include
/dev/sda1 /mnt/perdrive auto noauto,owner, 0 0 in /etc/fstab.

I had created a folder named pendrive in /mnt and have mounted using:

mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/pendrive and had upmounted and ejected before removing the pendrive.

But, when I logged in by putting the pen drive in the USB port, the above command doesnot appear in /etc/fstab nor does the folder pendrive

Hope some one can help me solve this problem.
